Suicide of a Barrister. —Thomas Stephens, a barrister, aged seventy-mght, and at one time a .candidate for Parliar meat for the Plymouth seat, was, in London, charged with libelling his son. When called to surrender to his bail at the Old Bailey he did not respond. He was called again without result, and then a messenger hurried into court and stated that Stephens had fatally cut his throat.
