NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Pelorus Road Board held on Tuesday, lit August, 1911, a resolution was j “That the Pelorus Road B ; d, in pursuance : n exerc' -■ «.t the powers vesieil in it bv .he ‘Road Boards Act, 1908/ the ‘ Local Bodies Loans Act, 1908,’ the * Public Works Act, 1908,’ and the Acts amending the same respectively, and by virtue of a Warrant dated the 23rd day of June, 1911, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, in terms of section 119 of the Public Works Act, 1908; and in pursuance of all other Acts and powers, if any, enabling it in that behalf, hereby resolves by Special Order to borrow by way of Special Loan the sum of £2950 (part of a joint special loan with the Blenheim Borough Council, the Havelock Town Board, the Omaka Road Board, and the Wairau Road Board) for the purpose of providing the Pelorus Road Board’s share of the cost of constructing a Bridge over the Wairau River on the Nelson to Blenheim Road (near Renwicktown), and approaches and protective works thereto, as described in the said warrant; also for paying the costs of raising the loan and the first year’s interest of the loan during the construction of the said works; that the currency of the said special loan shall be for a period of thirty-six years and a half, and be payable by half-yearly instalments each campounded of principal and interest; that the interest of the said special lo anbe at the rate of per centum per annum, and be payable half-yearly ; that the Pelorus Road Board doth hereby appropriate and pledge as security for the repayment of the said special loan and interest and other charges thereon a special rate of 1-7 of a penny in the pound, to be made and levied by the Pelorus Road Board over the whole of tbe rateable (unim-< proved) value of the rateable property in the Pelorus Road District.”
