Forest Fires.
A NEWFOUNDLAND DISASTER. Sfc. Johns, Aug. 27. An immense forest fire threatened the pulp mills in the Exploit River district. The workmen .employed at the Harmsworth mills are fire-fight“ ing. A huge area of country was threatened. The wind veering, saved the pulp mills at Bishop’s Palls, but enormous destruction was done to forest trees.
