MEMORANDA.

The Assistant-District Lands Registrar, Blenheim, notifies in this issue that section 75, town of Havelock, owned by Charles Yates Fell, will be brought under the provisions of the Land Transfer Act unless caveat be lodged against this action on or before Ist October. It will interest many of our readers to learn that Mr H. A. Raven, of Picton, who will to-morrow open a jewellery store in Havelock, for one week only, holds the Spencer optical certificate of the United* States, having passed in theory and practical examination. Mr Raven will bring with him his testing glasses so that customers may have their eyes tested. On page 3 of this issue Messrs Price and Lord, saddle, harness, and collar makers, Blenheim, have an advertisement of interest to owners of horses. The opinion of an intelligent horse is given as to the splendid value of the firm’? goods. Anyone in want of a stylish set of harness for the Jubilee Show week should get into touch with this enterprising firm. We have to call attention to a new advertisement in another column from Mr G. F. Farr, of the Royal Hotel, Lambton Quay, Wellington, a wellknown hostelry—one whose culinary department has been famous for many years and whose prices are most reasonable. The hotel has a splendid name for liquors that can be depended upon. We can recommend visitors and travellers to place themselves under the care of the genial proprietor. We are al} deeply interested in the possibilties of our future,’ and most of us would lift the veil if it were possible to do so. Astronomy offers us much enlightenment on the future, and scientists claim absolute reliability in certain directions by consulting the stars. In this issue Mr L. Banks, of Courtenay Place, Wellington, invites correspondence and gives directions to those desirous of having their horoscope cast. He claims exactitude and fidelity for his horoscopes.
