ADDINGTON .STOCK SALE. [By Telegraph-Special to Guardian] Christchufch, Last Night. At the Addington sales there was a fair yarding of sheep, principally of lambs and wethers. In consequence of the more wintry aspect of the weather the demand has fallen off, and sales were more difficult to effect even at somewhat lower rates than those lately ruling. The principal sales were—Ewes: sound-mouth 9s Gd to Ids Bdj 158 aged at 6s; wethers: 12s ’sd to 17s lOd ; lambs; 10s 6d to 12s 2d. There was a large entry of fat lambs, a large proportion being unfinished lots. Prime lambs sold fully up to last week’s prices. Show lambs to 25s Id, standard weights 14s to 18s, lighter 11s Gd to IBs 9d. Fat Sheep.—One of the largest yardings seen in the yards. There was a decline in all classes except for prime wethers, and towards the close of the sale ewes were difficult to dispose of, only a few buyers operating. The range of prices was—Prime wethers 20s to 24s Gd, medium 15s to 17s Gd, aged 10s Gd to 14s Gd. Fat Cattle.—There was little change in the value of prime beef, but other descriptions were much easier. Steers made £7 to £l3, heifers £4 10s Gd to £7, cows M to £7 10s ; equal to 22s 6d to 25s for prime, and 19s to 22s for medium and inferior, per 1001 b. Dry cows sold at 20s to £2 16s. Dairy cows were dull of sale at 25s to £7 7s Gd. Pigs.—A keen demand, and further improvement in larger stores.
