NOTES FROM CANVASTOWN.
(From our own Correspondent). A meeting of ladies was held in the Schoolroom on Wednesday night to arrange matters in connection with the Schoolgirls' Hockey Club social, which is to take place in the Victoria Hall on 24th May. Mr Dillon, with his usual generosity, has given the use of the Hall free '■ of charge to the youngsters, aud it is hoped the general public will attend so as to make the function a success. The children will have the floor until ten o'clock, and as they are learning to dance they ought to have a real good time. The charges bave been fixed at 2/- for gentlemen and 1/- for ladies, which are not much, as it is an all-night dance and a really good supper will be provided. The money taken at the doors will go to supply the schoolgirls with hockey sticks.
