NAVAL EDUCATION UP TO DATE.
Great fun is being made of some of the questions which have been drawn up for the candidates for the new naval system of education. The candidates are boys from ten twelve. By the way of testing their general smartness they are asked such questions as ” What Is a female fox called ? ” Possibly this is intended to be a stroke of wit, as there Is a vixen in the navy. A similar remark may be applied to the question, ‘‘How long does it take to hatch a ben in an incubator ? which may be an occult reference to the art of teaching one’s grandmother to suck eggs
