Mr Smalley, the well-known journalist, declares that a report which was current that an agreement had beeu arrived at over Venezuela, seriously aroused American Jingoism, which voices the Government’s leavings. Commercial classes urge Great Britain to meet President Cleveland promptly. Later. The Venezuelan Government has agreed to assist the United States Boundary Commission in its labours. President Cleveland advises Venezuela to %> act peacefully in the matter.
