Land Board.

The Land Board met for its usual monthly meeting on Monday. Present: —Commissioner for Crown Lands and Messrs Seymour, Parsons, Mills and Redwood.

A report was read from the Warden, on G. Thom’s application, to have sections 35, 36 and 37 included in his S. G. Run.—lt was resolved to obtain a report from the Surveyor as to the advisability of including these sections.

The ranger reported on J. Brown’s application, for 150 acres in tbe Pelorus Valley and he suggested that the lessee be allowed to fence in the top of the ridge instead of on the proper boundary; also that Mr Bown wishes to amend his application by extending the western boundary for about 12 chains—lt was resolved to have the land opened under part 111 in accordance with Mr Bown’s original application as second class unsurveyed land of the ca*h valua of ten shillings per acre. The Warden’s report on Mr Adams’ application to purchase Langleydale run, No. 2, was read, and it was resolved to forward it to the head office.

Mr C. Turner wrote in connection with the block of land proposed to be withdrawn from the State forest and reserved for travelling stock, asking that 200 acres adjoining his holding in the Rai Valley be also withdrawn and handed to him.—lt was resolved that the Board had no power to except any land from the State forest, and in this case recommended that a reserve should be made for a restingplace for stock. Mr C. H. Mills, M.H.R., was granted leave of absence during the coming session of Parliament. The Board then adjourned.
