Havelock Town Board.

The above Board held its monthly meeting on Wednesday. Present:— Messrs Price (Chairman), Smith, and Scctt. . . The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Letters ware received from Mr Mathieson re opening cellar Granted on the usual terms. Mr G. Gwillim re gorse.— Secretary to attend to it. . . , Colonial Secretary re partial refund of licensing expenses.—Received. A petition was received from several residents in the district asking for the eye-water well to be re-opened.—Left in the hands of the Inspector and two members of the Board to decide what should be done in the matter. It was decided to call for tenders for the labour required in new flooring the Library. The Inspector was directed to put the roads in order as far as practicable. It was resolved that the Board, with the Inspector, examine the culvert crossing Lucknow-street as soon as accounts were passed for payment: —L. Brinck, £1; T. Brown, £2 7/2; Charitable Aid, £6 14/7; Licensing expenses, £9 0/7. The Board then adjourned.
