Sydney, May 19. Two more arrests have been made in connection with the Post Office frauds. One of the prisoners, a man named Ogle, was also connected with a “ long firm ” of swindlers which recently engaged the attention of the police. The item of £I,OOO, expenses in connection with Sir George Bibbs’ trip Home, which created a large amount of comment, has been withdrawn from the Estimates, a number of citizens having subscribed the amount. Melbourne, May 19. The scheme for dealing with the unemployed difficulty which is under consideration proposes that the men should be billeted on unimproved leaseholds in the colony at the expens of the owners. The Colonial Treasurer generally approves of the idea, A number of persons interested in Mercantile Bank prosecutions are dissatisfied at a nolle prosequi being entered in the cases against Sir M.
