The Panama Canal Scandal.

Paris, March 9. The Judge who is trying the Panama Canal Directors, amid prolonged uproar, rebuked Charles De Lesseps for stating the Government was largely responsible for the Company paying enormous sums to bankers and newspapers. He specially instanced De Freycinet, Floquet, and Clemenciau as supporters of this policy, De Lesseps states Floquet asked and obtained three hundred thousand francs (£12,000) for newspapers which were opposing Boulanger. His coolness and frankness are a strong contrast to the caution previously displayed, and he is evidently disposed to reveal everything. He reproached the Judge for trying to shelter the Government.
