Death of Mrs. Pope.

It is just twelve'months ago since we recorded the death of Mp- R. *W. Pope in hisrßsth year, and it is now our painful duty to announce the death, after a lingering illness, of his aged widow Mary Ann Pope, in her 88rd year. Mrs Pope came with her husband to Taranaki in the year 1842, and went through all the trials incidental to settlement in a young country. After residing in Taranaki for about thirteen years the deceased came to Nelson owing to the Nathe troubles in the former place, and afterwards settled: in Havelock. Sl.e leaves behind heivone daughter, six sons, about forty grand-children, and thirty great-grand-cbildren to mourn her loss. The funeral takes place on Sunday at 3 o’clock. She has gone to her rest, To a place most divine, Where beauty is blest, Set wo must not repine.
