MAHAKIPAWA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Cullensville, Tuesday, weather seems to have cleared fKince more, there was a heavy iresh in the creek on Sunday. The claims in the creek were just getting in tair working order, and most or them would have brought down some good gold this week, but now there will be very little time to make up a chamois for Christmas. The Long Time would have had their new fluming finished and calculated to be pumped out by this time, but now I don’t suppose many of us will get to work before the middle of next week. _ ... C. O’Connell gave his entertainment on Saturday to a audience. His rendering of Richard HI. was really artistic, and anyone who is competitent to judge the meats of a tragic actor, on seeing Mr 0 Connell on the stage will be surprised at the professional style he exhibited. He recited a very pethetic piece, Christmas Hay in the workhouse, which, to my thinking, was his masterpiece, but as Mr 0 Connell contemplates coming to Havelock at an early date, I need not go into details. He was ably assisted by Mr E. J. Cox and Mr C. Cox, Messrs Allnutt, Marenzi, and _ Allington, supplying music, that in itself was a treat.
