Writing on New Year's Dsf, the London correspondent of the Star reported as follows :-VEbe ordiiiary general meeting o(. th 6 reooni structed Rayenscliffe Mining Company was held on Wednesday, Mr F.,s, Ward presiding, tfhe chainuta hsf little to tell his proprietors save ihil' the properties the company had acquired since reconstruction wer» very "promising" ones, but would require more working capital to develop them, which would be raised by & call amounting to about £I,OOO. Having told the shareholders that Mr Logan, the vendor, had not received any cadi for his properties, but only £4,000 in shares, and that his interests were therefore identical with their-bwo,- jJKr Ward paid a pretty compliment to the manager in New Zealand, Mr C. H. Turner, to whom the company were indebted for ihe zeal and ability dis* played by him, first of all in recommending the properties to.usi aad:|n assisting Mr Lopan to devel6p:theni Mr Mackay, the auditor, having refused to accept remuneration for his services till the company were payingif dividends, the proceedings terminated with the usual compliments to the ch^ir.
