[Per Association Telegram] . Wellington, Feb. 7. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following telegram, dated 6th inst. :—The wool market is dull and cross-bred is easier. Up to date 226,000 bales have arrived. 88,000 bales have been sent to the manufacturing districts direct. The wheat market has a downward tendency. Adelaide is worth 465., and New Zealand, 41s. per 4961b5. Tallow market : Best mutton is worth 435, and beef, 39s per cwt. The leather market is quiet, best sides are worth IOJd. per lb. The N. Z. Hemp market is quiet; fine is worth £27 per ton.
