[PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION], ■Wool Salos WELLINGTON, This day. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company report under date London, September 12th: —Wool sales progress firmly. Up to date 159,000 bales were sold. The competition by both home and foreign buyers was active. The wheat market is depressed. Adelaide worth 495; New Zealand, 46s per 4961b5. The tallow market is firm. Best mutton, 465; best beef, 45s per cwt. The leather market is firm. Best sides Ils 6d per lb. The New* Zealand flax market is quiet. Fine quality worth £29 per ton. (BY CABLE.—BEUTEP.’.S SPECIAL). LONDON, September 13. Consols unchanged at 99 7-9, and New Zealand Securities at the following quotations: -Five per Cent. 10-40 Lean, 105£ ex div.; Five per Cent. 1889 Loan, 1064 ; Four-and-ivllali per Cent 1&79-1904 Loan, The Wheat market is dull; Adelaide ex warehouse, 48s; New Zealand ditto, 46s to 48s ; Adelaide Flour ex store, 355. Australian Tallow firm at 45s 6d for best beef, and 46s 6d for best mutton. At the Wool auction to-day 10,200 bales were offered. The market is steady, but the demand is not active.
