(OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Napier, Monday. The Chief Justice resumed the Supreme Court Civil Sittings on Saturday, and the case of Kar.titiana’s 'Trustees was heard. 'The pl ’.intiff sued for on a promissory note signed by the late John Sheehan, for labor done and money paid. The Judge held that the Trustee were not liable, and nonsuited the plaintiff. Messrs Downie Stewart and 11. J. Finn appeared for the defendants. Arthur Williams, aged 17, was drowned yesterday l.; the Tutaekuri River while bathing. Auckland, Monday. Some human remains were found at Mount Victoria while digging a trench for the ba'tery. There is a Ing dispute in the building trade owing to a large contractor intimating that he will pay 9s a day instead of lOS.
