IMPOUNDING.
To the Editor. Sift,—ls there a ranger in Glsbdrrte fot impounding stray cattle, horses, sheep, &c. ? I am an early riser and generally stroll towards the beach in order to enjoy the sea breeze. Durir.g the last three weeks I have several times seen loose horses and cattle grazing in our streets, and every morning between 3.30 a.m. ana 8 o’clock several hundred sheep come across the Grey street bridge. Some go into Mr Thelwall’s section, a large number visit Captain Tucker’s paddock, and the remaining portion wander about Childers Road. I hear the owner of the sheep and the Poundkeeper are both Councillors. The old story I suppose of •‘wheels within wheels.” —I am, &c.. A Sufferer.
