WELLINGTON RACES. (own CORRESPONDENT.) Wellington, Monday. The second day's races took place at the Hutt on Saturday last, and were well attended. The racing was good, but the fields were rather small. The following are tho results of the meeting :— Railway Stakes : Rumor, 1; Minerva, 2 ; Revoke, 3. Two others also ran. Won by two lengths. Hurdle Race : Druid, 1 ; Macearoni 2. Two others ran, but came to grief soon after the start. Local Handicap ; Poet, 1. Six others ran. Sr. Andrew’s Handicap : Grand Duke, 1; Poet, 2 ; Salvage, 3. Two others started, Won by a length. ISLAND BAY RACES. (OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Wellington, Monday. The above races are being held to-day/ The weather is splendid, and the attendance is large. Appended are the results :— Hubbles : Macearoni, 1; Erebus, 2 ; Druid 3. Flying Stakes : Capsize, 1; Revoke, 2 ; Rumor, 3. TAKA PUNA RACES. (OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Auckland, Monday. The above meeting took place on Saturday last, and was largely attended. The results are as follows :— Spring Handicap : Victoria, 1 ; Mitrailleus, 2 ; Mystery, 3. St. Andrew’s Handicap : Victoria, 1; Sir Bedevere, 2 ; Cinderella, 3, Hurdle Race : Tim, 1 ; Comet, 2 ; and Quilp, 3, Ste.speechase : Quilp, 1; Catouchuc. 2 ; Hawthorn, 3. A commission has been thrown on th market in favor of Foul Shot for the Auckland Cup, and he has been backed here, and, it is said, also in the South, for a large amount. This has been the means of the son, of Musket advancing to the position of second favorite. The following may be said to be the ruling prices : —7 to 1 against Stondyhnrst (taken), 8 to 1 Foul Shot (taken), 10 to 1 Turquoise and Tetsord, 14 to 1 Radames and Woodnymph, 18 to one Pearl, Nelson, Wapiti, Sou’-wester, and Refigerator.
