PROGRAMME; To start at 12,30. 1. Maidex Hurdle Race, of sovs; distance twice round the course, over four flights of hurdles, 3ft 6in high, no weight less than Ost 71b. Open to all district horses that have not won a hurdle race. Entrance, £l. To start at 2 p.m, 2. Maiden Plate, of sovs ; distance 1£ miles, weight for age, open to all district horses that have not won a prize of the value of over £5 gross. Entrance, £l. To start at 3 o’clock. 3. Uawa Stakes Handicap, of not less than £l5 sovs, open to all comers, distance two miles, top weight not over 10st: nomination 1 sov on or before the 16th December at 8 p.m.; weights declared on the 17th ; acceptance 1 sov, on or before tha 30th at 8 p.m. To start at 4 o’clock. 4. Flying Stakes, of sovs, once round the course, weight for age, winner of Maiden Plate to carry 51bs extra ; open to district horses only. Entrance, £l. To start at 5 o'clock. 5. Hack Race, of eovs, distance once round the course, no weight less than Bst 71bs; open to district horses that have not won a prize of the value of over £5 gross, and not otherwise engaged at this meeting. Entrance, 10s. To start at 6 o’clock. 6. Forced Handicap, of sovs, distance 1 mile, top weight not over list ; compulsory to winners, optional to losers. Entrance, £l. CONDITIONS:

1— “ District horse ” means any horse which has been the bona fide property of a resident in the district for three months prior to the day of the meeting. 2— “ Resident ” means any person who has resided in the district for three months prior to the day of the meeting. 3— “ District ” means that portion of the East Coast lying between the East Cape on the north, and the Waiomoko River on the south. 4— “ Entrance ” means nomination, and vice versa. 5— No person shall be allowed to start a horse in any race, other than the Hack Race, unless he be a subscriber of at least 1 sov to the race fund. 6— No person shall be allowed to nominate a horse the property of another person unless each be a su bscrtber of at least 1 sov to Jhe race fund, the Hack Race excepted. 7— All protests to be lodged with the Secretary in writing, within half ;an hour after the race, accompanied by a deposit of 1 sov, which will be forfeited if the protest be not sustained.

8— The decision of the Stewards, or w m they may appoint, will in all cases be fl al, and nominations will be received only n on that condition. 9— Non-subscrlbcrs nominating a H ack, to 'pay a qualification fee of 10s. 10— Nominations, enclosing entrance fees, name, age, discription, and pedigree of horse, and color of rider, to be in the hands of the Secretary not later than 8 p.m. on the 30th December, (excepting the Uawa Stakes, which must be sent in as abbve.) All claims, disputes, and objections arising shall be decided by the Stewards, who will be appointed on the course.
