INTERPROVINCIAL.
(own CORRISPONDENT.) Westport, Friday. A serious shooting case occurred 10 miles from here, last night. A party of colliers under the influence of liquor were attempting to get into a house occupied by a woman named Ambrose, wherein there was a Frenchman named Plaon. A disturbance occurred, and subsequently one of the party, named Smart, went back to search for his mates. Upon his knocking at the door, a shot
was fired, striking Smart in the shoulder and inflicting a dangerous wound. Plaon is in custody.
