CABLE NEWS. (own correspondent.) London, Sept. 17. The wool market has a firmer tone. The issue of /"joo.ooo worth of debentures is projected by the Queensland Land Company. The New York Maritime Exchange appeals to President Cleveland to endeavor to subsidise the San Francisco line. September 18. Cardinal Moran, Archbishop of Sydney, is a passenger to Australia per Liguria. Sir Michael Hicks Beach, Chancellor of the Exchequer, addressed a public meeting of electors of East Gloucestershire last night at Cirencester. In the course of his speech he denied the existence of a compact between the Pafnellite and Conservative parties regarding the Home Rule question. Sir Michael expressed himself in favor of an extension of local self government to the three Kingdoms. Advices from Scicily state that the cholera is increasing to an alarming extent in Palermo. News is to hand from Roumealea of a revolution having taken place there, but fortunately of a peaceable nature, and unaccompanied by bloodshed. The inhabitants of the province seized the Turkish Governor, Aleka Pasha, and issued a proclamation declaring the union of Roumelia with Bulgaria. The Routnelian army took the oath of allegiance to Prince Alexander of Bulgaria, and are now occupying several strategic points on the Turkish frontier. In consequence of these events the Bulgarian army is being mobalised.
