Mr. E. J. Beresford, who is ever fruitful in his resources to provide amusement for the public,, has- decided to’give an Easter Ball at Roseland on Monday night. The programme, together with the well earned reputation, as a caterer which Mr. Beresford is so famed for, will undoubtedly bring, a good company together. Mr. A. McDonald left for Napier last night. He goes south for the purpose of interviewing Mr. Sheehan re the Tauranga seat,
The Waihora arrived in the Bay yesterday afternoon with the followingpassengers (saloon): The Gordon Cricketers (11), Messrs. Hunter, Black, Price, Bruce and Carnachan; Mesdames Price and Kenny; Misses Ling and Von Daddszen. In the steerage —■ Messrs Hansen, Taylor, Lee, and Misses Merry, Scanlon and Hansen.
