Winter, heads mo batting averages in this grade for the season just closed, Winter having a fairly good majority in average over that of the second man, M. A. O'Brien, Marist, whose average is 39.69. O'Brien batted six more innings than the City player.

The best senior A aggregate went to G. Slade, of High School Old Boys, who tallied 429 runs for the season. Another City player, R. Calcott, heads the senior B averages with the fairly low average of 30.77, P. C. Dwyer, Gisborne Club, being in close attendance to Calcott. M. McMahon, who headed the list of century-makers for the reason and who was top of the representative averages, has the best aggregate, his 417 being three runs better than the total secured by Dwyer. Barbour Best Bowler The bowling figures show that J. Barbour, the G.H.5.0.8. trundler, was the best bowler, securing 23 (wickets for 159 runs to make his .average per

wicket 6.91. ■E. James, captain of Marist, is next on the list. James took the greatest number of wickets, 55, at an average cost of 10.67.

The greatest number of overs in the A grade was sent down by M A. O'Brien, the fast bowler having bowled 220 overs and taken 44 wickets at an average of 16.18 runs per wicket.

The City bowler, G. Steed, secured tile senior B bowling honours, tubing •.even wickets at an average cost ,-f 5.57 per wicket. Numerically, S. Scott was the best bowler, the United trundler securing a very good bag ot 98 wickets. H. Bee, the High School break bowler, bowled well to take 52 wickets in club games during the season.
