CONTROL OF TRANSPORT
BRITISH PREPARATION SYSTEM. IN WARTIME (Reed. Mar. 29, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Mar. 28. The Minister of Transport, Mr. Leslie Burgin, has disclosed that the Government would take over all railways in war time, and strictly control the roads and curtail private motoring in order to conserve the supplies of petrol. The aim would be to provide adequate food transport for the more remote districts. He added that docks and shipping routes presented countless problems, but plans were being prepared to maintain the essential services.
