The current value of £ls a ton, through store, is the highest level which has ruled at this period for a considerable number of years. At this time last year, potatoes were selling at £7 10s to £8 a ton. Gisborne has not felt the' shortage yet. This is a slack season for the marketing of potatoes in this district, for many people, both in the town and country, are still using their own supplies. The retail price at present is 15s fid per cwt.
