NEW TRADE TREATY TERM OF THREE YEARS (Reed. Mar. 22, 9 a.m.) LONDON,' Mar. 21. The trade agreement between' Britain and India has been concluded. It is to operate for three years. It benefits the Lancashire cotton industry.
India lowers the duties on British cotton goods in the first year from 20 to 15 per cent. The duties in subsequent years will depend on the volume" of exports. The Ottawa preferences will generally toe continued.
