LOSS TO CRICKET
TRANSFER OF PLAYER MR. G. N. LOCKETT FORMER REP. SELECTOR 'Cricket circles in Gisborne will suffer a loss by the transfer of Mr. G. N. Lockett, of the local branch of the Government Insurance Department, to Wellington, Mr. Lockett for many years having been a stalwart of the game in Gisborne. Playing first for the Gisborne High School, he was captain of the first eleven and later joined the Old Boys Club, being a member of this club for many years. He captained the Poverty Bay representative team on numerous occasions and was also representative selector for several seasons.
During his footbaW career Mr. Lockett was a member of the High School Old Boys side and gained representative honours in the junior grade. Mr. .Lockett, who will leave for Wellington next week-end, will be replaced by Mr. H. O. McFarlane, Dunedin. His transfer is the second in the Gisborne office within a week, Mr. A. C. Paine having received notice of his transfer to Wellington last week.
