MORE DISMISSALS LIKELY
TEMPORARY CLERKS LABOUR DEPARTMENT (Pur Proas Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Temporary clerks employed in the Auckland employment division ol the Labour Department, portion ol which has been absorbed in the new Social Security Department, now face the certainty that substantial retrenchment is contemplated among them. It was expected -that the dismissal notices would be issued to-day. Until'they 'joined the division from the ranks of the unemployed, some of the temporary clerks had had no previous 'clerical experience, but there are others with long training who have held responsible positions. There are large numbers of unemployed clerks on the labour market in Auckland.
