Soil for Tree-Planting An application for soil for the purpose of planting trees on Kaiti Beach was made to the Borough Council last night by Mr. T. Te Puni. who stated that while trees planted in the sand failed to grow, those with some soil underneath survived through the dry seasons. The trees would be for the use of the public—lt was decided to reply that the council could not accede to the request, but to thank Mr. Te Puni for his efforts.
