WIN FOR TAIHAPE < ______ HAWKE’S BAY B BEATEN RANGITIKEI B VICTORY (Per Press Association.) FEILDING, this day. Games for the junior cup were played at the New Zealand Polo Association's tournament at Feilding yesterday afternoon. Taihape defeated iimyke’s (Bay B, while Rangitikei B (beat Masterton. Play between Taihape and Hawke’s Bay was fast and exciting for the greater part of the game. The first chukka ended without any score, but in the second the Bay shot two goals which was increased to three early in the third chukka. Taihape scored right on the bell making the scores 3 —l. A Hast pace was maintained nil through the fourth chukka but there was no score Until near the end when Taihape succeeded in registering a penalty goal. Taihape, at .the end of the fifth chukka, made the scores level, Taihape drawing ahead with another goail at the start of the final chukka. A fast rally in the closing stages saw the Taihape men through again, making the final score 5 —3 in Taihape’s favour. Rangitikei opened badly against Masterton. The latter was not slow to take advantage, Vallance goaling in the second chukka. Play was tame until the close when nice work by Rangitikei equalised. Masterton drew ahead again at'the start of the third chukka, shooting two goals. The fourth chukka was ' quiet and scoreless, with Rangitikei making ineffective attacks. The fifth chukka resulted in another goal for Rangitikei following tame play. Rangitikei reached even terms with their opponents early in the stages of the last chukka. An exciting finish saw Rangitikei shoot the deciding goal From a melee, the final scores being f—3 in Rangitikei’s 'favour.
