JOCKEY’S APPEAL FAILS
SUSPENSION OF WINDER COMMITTEE’S RUOINO (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. The appeal of the. jockey £■:' Winder against the decision of the stewards of the Franklin Racing Club in suspending his license for two months as from March 4, for careless riding on Son of the Soil in the Bombay Handicap, was dismissed last evening by the Auckland District Committee. The finding of the district committee was as follows:—“That the appeal lodged by J. Winder against the decision of the stewards of the Franklin Racing Club in suspending his jockey's license for two months as from March 4, 1939, for a breach of Rule 289 of the Rules of Racing, be dismissed, and the decision of the stewards of the Franklin Racing Club be endorsed.” The deposit lodged for the appeal was ordered to be forfeited.
