HITLER EFFECT REMOVED
"They have removed the Hitler effect and have made it into a marriage ceremony," commented the president, Mr, 11. S. Feast, at a recent meeting of the Canterbury Surf Association when advice was received from the New Zealand Surf Council outlining a modification in the athletic oath ceremony at the Dominion surf championships. The advice stated that the council had decided to continue the administering of the oath at the championships, but had agreed to delete the raising of the arm as a salute of affirmation. To the former end of the oath would be added the words, “Do you thus promise?" and members of clubs on parade would reply, "We do."
