HIDES AND SHEEPSKINS SALE AT WELLINGTON Messrs. Murray Roberts and Company, Limited, reporting on the Wellington hide and sheepskin sale, state that competition was keen and well .spread. Full wools sold at rates equal to the last sale, while quarterwools showed an easing tendency. Half-Wools were \g good demand and were par to ',d better. All weights of cow firmed a shade. Lightweights cf ox appreciated id, with medium at par and heavy sorts Jd dearer. Yearlings dropped Jd, and calf were unchanged. BAOON PICi AWARDS (Per Tress Association.) WHANGAREI, last night. Johnson and Company, Kiripaka, gained first, second, third and fifth placings in the Whangarei .section of the national bacon pig championship. judged on hoof at the Whangarei Show. Innes Weaver, Whangarei, was awarded fourth place. The pigs are to be judged on the hooks at Moerewa and as bacon at, the Whangarei Winter Show.
NORTHERN PRODUCE RATES PRICKS UNALTERED Trade in Pukekohe produce has been steady since last week and there has been im alteration in values. Growers are inclined to hold onions against a further rise in price, and supplies are thus not very readily obtainable. However, the price remains at 117 s (id a cwt.. I'.b.r., Pukekohe, for both table onions and .pickle rs. Potatoes and other lines are available in "fairly free supply. Potatoes are still at Us a cwt., and pumpkins at Ts (id.
