LADIES’ CRICKET
I The Poverty Bay Ladies' Cricke. Club played a match against tin Napier club at McLean Park, Napier, on Saturday, the result being a draw. ! Napier secured a lead of 27 runs or. the first innings, .after five of the eanv batswomen had .been dismisses cheaply, and had it not been for a splendid stand made by Miss N. Nelsc: and Mrs. G. Algie, the latter being ;. former Gisborne .girl, the Napier tola. . would have been very small indeed. Miss M. Sim came out with a splendic. bowling average, and Miss J. SuKo;. also did well. Miss Sim was the mainstay of the Gisborne batting, and was undefeated for 17 in a very small total. Neil her team was able to complete its second innings, arid the gam. resulted in 'a draw.
