COMMITTEEMAN RESIGNS TRIBUTES TO HIS WORK (Humid Oorresporidnut.) The resignation of Mr. R. K. Ross from the membership of the Murhvai School Committee was received at the monthly meeting of the committee held in the school last evening. Mr. Ross, who in the past has been member, secretary and chairman of former school committees in the district, regretted his dissociation with the schbol which his impending departure from the district made necessary. He paid tributes to the work* of the chairman, Mr. J. Dovery, and to the cordial -co-opera-tion and the spirit of good fellowship that existed in the present body. Eulogistic references to the work of Mr. Ross and to his keen interest in committee affairs were paid by the chairman, who, on behalf of the committee, expressed his deep regret at Mr. Ross’ departure. The balance-sheet for the past year was adopted, and a sub-committee for the monthly inspection of the school and grounds arranged. For the month, the headmaster reported, the roll number was 7(i arid the average attendance 70.25. During the past fortnight anti-typhoid inoculations had been carried out at the school.
