In connection with the grant lor the Tolaga Bay-Arakihi road ot £550, t’2 for £). the Public Works Department. Gisborne, advised that the matter would be considered when information was received of tenders. A sub-committee, Crs. McNeil, Smith, and' Hawkins, was appointed to deal with the tenders. ' The engineer was instructed to carry out improvements to the cattle dip and pound yards. Advice was received from the No. 4 District Highways Council that additional authority for maintenance had been approved for the Tolaga Bay-Tamvhareparae highway. The clerk was instructed to tender the council’s thanks to Mr. H. Kenway for forwarding a cheque as a contribution towards tbe Huanui road metalling grant. Accounts amounting to £2l2(i 10s 2d were passed for payment.
