A very pretty wedding was quietly solemnised at St. James’ Ohureh, i'okomaru Bay, on Saturday afternoon when Eileen, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. King, Three Bridges, was married to Edward Kitchener, of Jmaio, Bay of Plenty. The Rev. Father Shearin officiated at the ceremony. The bride, who entered the church on. the arm of Mr. H. Cann, presented a charming picture in a govvn of ivory shimmer satin, which fell in graceful .olds to the ankles. "The bodice was fashioned 1 in ;a cowl effect, and large puffed sleeves and a. long wide sash finished the frock to advantage, the beautiful tulle veil, heavily embroidered and scalloped at the edges, was held in place by a silver halo, and a double string of pearls and satin shoes /ompletcd the ens’crnblc. She ccuiicd a shower bouquet of cream asters and 1 ilies. • Bridesmaids Flocked Alike Assisting the bride were two bridesmaids, Misses Mary Nelson and Norma King, who were frocked alike in shell pink cloque cut on classical lines and .ailing to the ankles. Their Peter Pan collars were finished at the necklines with tiny black velvet bows, and ■.ashes of black velvet ribbon were ,ied ; at the waist and fell to the hemline. They wore picture hats of black straw tilted to reveal a cluster of pink georgette flowers. Their bouquets consisted of asters in delicate shades ;f pink and mauve, interspersed with jhlox and asparagus fern. Attending the bridegroom were Mr. .Vallie Dickson as best man and Mr. E. A number of" fine wedding presents were on view and many congratulatory telegrams were received. * Later in the day the happy couple travelled south in. their car, the bride wearing a smart suit of eau de ml •md navy needle-run flat crepe and relieved with a cherry belt, hat, shoes and handbag.
