CRASH IN PALESTINE ARAB SNIPER SUSPECTED The belief that Pilot Officer .J. Poynton, son of Mrs. G. Poynton, Hamilton, who was killed during military aircraft operations in Palestine recently, met his death l'rom an Arab sniper's bullet is expressed in a letter to Mrs. Poynton from Squadron Leader H. D McGregor. o\ the 33rd Fighter Squadron, Royal Air Force. Pilot Officer Poynton was 2! years old and when his machine crashed it burst into flames. "It is almost impossible to find out quite what happened, but there seems little doubt that he was hit by an Arab sniper's bullet," the letter states. >
