SATISFACTORY POSITION

TWO RIDINGS FULLY PAID RETURNS ANNOUNCED. (Special to the Herald.) TOLAGA BAY, this clay. A satisfactory position is revealed in the analysis of rates struck and collected in the Uawa County Council, the amounts in two of the European ridings, Arakihi and Hauiti, out of a total of six being fully paid. In the other ridings small amounts were outstanding. The total amount struck among the natives in the Hauiti ridings was also collected. The position was commented on favourably at the recent meeting of the council. The figures are as follows: — EUROPEAN. OutStruck Paid standing.
