WEEK-END CRICKET
GARAGE TEAM'S WIN MATCH WITH TE KARAKA The Bignell and Holmes' cricket representatives played a week-end match in Te Karaka, securing a win ever the home side by 85 runs, the game being decided on the firs' innings. Rain sot in at the close of Te Karaka's second innings and the match was abandoned at that stage. A summary of the scores is given below:— Te Karaka. —First innings, 70 (Trewnan 25, Moverly 23, Bradley 11, J. Blane five wickets for 21 runs, ft. Bignell six for 17): second innings, 93 (Moverly 32, Goodley 10, Foster not cut 9. Norman four wickets for nine runs, Blane three for 12, R. Bignell two for 21, Welsh one for 13). Bignell and Holmes. —First innings IGI ( McCarthy 31, Btirdett 29, Martell 20, L. Bignell not out 22, Blane 18, Callaghan 14. Bradley five wickets for 33 runs, Sidney five for 58, and Trewnan one for eight).
