ATTEMPT BY PARKINSON STAR CUP CYCLE RACE TIANDIGA PS A N NOUNC I*: I) A feature of the floodlight sports meeting to be conducted by the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Harrier Club on the Childers Road Reserve to-morrow evening will be the appearance in special events of Len Grey and Colin Parkinson, Gisborne competitors at the amateur athletic championship meeting in Napier, Grey, who was runner-up in the high jump aud pole vault championships in Napier, will compete in a special short limit handicap high jump. This will be his last appearance for the current season and, as lie is in first class form, he should provide some spectacular jumping. Parkinson will attack the Poverty Bay li-mile flat record of 7min. 41 2-ssec.'established 10 years ago by R. Fisken.
