In the junior grade two young and promising teams ■ carried the Marist colours, finishing third and fourth on the championship ladder. The third grade team performed creditably, several players being selected for the representative team. Comprising mostly .boys from the Marist School, the fourth and fifth grade teams were prominent, the former as runners-up in their grade and the latter as fifth grade champions for 1938. Club dances and social evenings proved popular and enjoyable and materially assisted the finances. The financial position is satisfactory, but an appeal is made for a more prompt payment of subscriptions. The thanks of the club are expressed to the Poverty Bay Rugby Union, the 'Referees Association, Drs. W. A. Bowie and A.
