Bose said the time had come for a major assault on British Imperialism and to present an ultimatum to concede, without delay, all. India's national demands. The international situation was favourable for this. The Congress passed a vote of confidence in Mahatma Gandhi and the old 1 committee by 210 votes to 131. The Leftists .solidly opposed the motion, seriously splitting the congress. Mr. Bose is suffering from bronchial pneumonia and his resignation is feared. The congress passed a vote of confidence in Gandhi by an overwhelming majority.
