CASH AND CHEQUE TAKEN
TARANAKI BURGLARY (Per Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. About £2O in cash and a cheque for £2B were stolen from a New Plymouth house on Saturday night. Mr. R. Wilton, of Hawera, lost the cheque and 'most of the cash, and Mr. W. P. Allen, of Hawera, lost the balance. They were staying with Mr. Patter, senior, in Gilbert street. Access was apparently gained through a bedroom window. The money had been left in two handbags.
