DISTRICT TEACHERS
DISCUSSION ON JOURNAL A report on the results of a questionnaire submitted to the teachers of Poverty Ray on the teachers' journal, National Education, was submitted to the monthly meeting of the Poverty Bay branch of the New Zealand Educational Institute, held on Friday evening at the Gisborne Central School. Much interest was shown in the report and the discussion which followed. Thanks to the sub-committee which had made the survey and collated the results' were pronoscd by Mr. F. J. Ness. Mr. C. J. Cox, vice-president, in the unavoidable absence of Mr. Parkinson, the president of the branch, extended a welcome to Mr. A. Seebeck, Whaiatulu, and Mr. W. G. Holmes, Te Hapnrn School. The secretary, Mr. E. G. CaigOU, commended the young teachers who were in attendance for their presence and their interest in the affairs of the branch. Discussion followed on the relationship of third year Training College students to the superannuation fund and the representations already made to the central executive. The management committee was appointed a sub-committee to consider the social side of the .branch's activities.
