Death of a Cat

Sir, —Touching that cat. —I read in your issue of Friday the letter from “Walrus,” and am sorry I am unable to agree with him as to the probable cause of death. If puss had wished to gas herself she would hardly have gone Out to the Waipaoa pumping station to do the deed, and if she went there to drink the water death would have intervened long before she could have got'back to Sheehan street. Not having seen Sheehan street, I incline to one of “.Desperate’s” alternative ideas as to the cause of the demise of Felix. However, I do not propose to get into any discussion with “Walrus” in your valuable columns. If he wants to argue verbally you are at liberty to divulge my identity to him, but for my own reasons I wish to remain anonymous, and therefore subscribe myself WRATZ.
