PROPOSALS FOR TESTS
PLAY OF 24 HOURS ONE TOSS/IN SERIES (Reed. March 11, 12.40 p.m.) CAPETOWN, March 10. The South African Cricket Board of Control, with the idea of avoiding draws through loss of time, is proposing to Maryilebone that all tests should consist of 24 hours of actual play, nominally .four days, with two extra if conditions necessitate it. The board also proposes that there be only one toss, after which the teams would bat in rotation in the remaining tests.
