FRUIT PRICE GUARANTEE
STATE NOT EMBARRASSED MINISTER'S DENIAL (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. "A statement as absurd as anything could be," declared the Minister of Marketing the Hon. W. Nash, when a Press Association message from Christchurch that the Government's guaranteed price to fruitgrowers for last season's crop had created an embarrassing situation for the Minister, was referred to him. Mr. Nash said that he understood the Fruitgrowers' Federation was dealing with the matter.
